Karkalla (Small Leaf Pigface) Flower

Disphyma crassifolium.

Also known as Beach banana or Small leaf pigface, its leaves & flowers are edible. The flowers are small and bright, hot pink. After picking the flowers close overnight so it is best to pluck the petals out of the calyx (base of the flower). 

They are crunchy, slightly zesty to taste.
