Primarily used for their delicate appearance as a garnish, Native Violets are not commonly available to buy in South Australia.
With a mild, slightly sweet flavour, these little flowers lend themselves to desserts, baked goods and drinks.
Ideas for use include:
- Sprinkle fresh flowers over salads or pasta dishes
- include the flowers in the salad for their mild, floral flavour
- Use petals to decorate desserts and cocktails - see our photo of a Whisky Sour!
- Add to ice-cream or ice cubes to bring flair to drinks and sweet dishes
- Steep to make tea or infuse with oils and vinegars
