Primarily used for their delicate appearance as a garnish, Native Violets are not commonly available to buy in South Australia.

With a mild, slightly sweet flavour, these little flowers lend themselves to desserts, baked goods and drinks.

Ideas for use include:

  • Sprinkle fresh flowers over salads or pasta dishes
  • include the flowers in the salad for their mild, floral flavour
  • Use petals to decorate desserts and cocktails - see our photo of a Whisky Sour!
  • Add to ice-cream or ice cubes to bring flair to drinks and sweet dishes
  • Steep to make tea or infuse with oils and vinegars
